Clutter Clearing Queen

I’ve become a clutter-clearing Queen!

Outside of writing, teaching, recording, raising 3 kids, cooking and cleaning……my relax time has been intense clutter clearing for a couple months.

It’s a part-time job in and of itself. Especially when you post everything on Facebook Marketplace.

If you look at my house, it actually looks very organized and clutter free, but don’t let that fool you! There is plenty in my drawers that don’t belong in my life.

I feel like a robot that regularly scans each room to identify what needs to go. It’s like a spidey sense. It is intensely clear what I need to donate, sell, or chuck.

Previously my rule was: 1 in and 3 out. Then I changed it to 1 in and 5 out. Now it’s more like 1 in and 10 out. The average American home has 300,000 items in it. Yes, that is real data. Hence, the 3 things a day felt too slow for my taste.

What has been my experience of constantly releasing expired things out of my life? FREEDOM!

Each day I get closer and closer to who I really am. I care about cleanliness and orderliness (something I lost when living with my ex).

I like walking into my home feeling like I can breathe, and feeling creativity circulate within me. My home is relaxing and inspiring all at the same time. This sensation of home is something I’ve searched for since 2015 when I left my hometown of San Diego.

A year ago these “home” sensations started to creep into my heart after living in Austin for 3 years. Now my energy field is oozing “home” feelings all over the place.

My greatest lesson has been learning how to interact with things.

So much was purchased in the past to satisfy a dopamine hit. So much was purchased without fully experiencing the consequences of having that item in my life.

Whatever you own (every single item) will require your attention. This means each item will require your Qi to interact with it.

Now I explore how an item affects my Qi. Is it affecting it in a way that is favorable or unfavorable? The more I do this, the easier it becomes to tap into how an item affects me.

This has changed how I shop and purchase not only clothes or a new house plant, but also with food. With 40% of food ending up in the landfill, I shop more frequently with significantly less items on an individual trip. I consider it a mission for my family to eat all the food in the refrigerator before any of it molds or rots.

There is a presence that I experience now, that I haven’t had before. I’m super picky about anything that comes into my life now.

I’m not the best to shop for. If it is ugly or not the best quality, or not useful, I will not keep it. I will re-gift with no remorse. My energy is too precious to me. There is one person who does give me exceptionally thoughtful and beautiful gifts - that’s Lauren on my team!

I am not a minimalist by any means. I love my Blend-Tec, my espresso machine, my red light panel, and my Therasage sauna. These are things I use regularly.

Instead of minimalist or maximalist, I consider myself a meaningfulist.

I only want things in my life that elevate my Qi. Everything else is junk Qi and has got to go!

Shift your frequency. Find your (Qi) flow. Rise & thrive.
